The big question facing the San Francisco 49ers and Aldon Smith is not if the outside linebacker will be suspended, but for how many games.
ESPN NFL Insider Bill Polian spoke to Alex Marvez of Sirius XM NFL Radio about that matter on Tuesday.

If the former six-time NFL Executive of the Year is right about the number of games, that’s relatively good news for the 49ers. Smith, of course, still has legal hurdles to clear. The 49ers star won’t be charged for his LAX arrest, but the 24-year-old is facing a July 25 sentencing for weapons and DUI charges from two unrelated incidents.
If Smith does in fact sit out three games, he would miss the season opener at the Dallas Cowboys, the home opener against the Chicago Bears and an away game against the Arizona Cardinals. In such a scenario, Smith would return in time for a September 28 matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles in Santa Clara.
How many games do you expect Smith to get suspended for?
