The Oakland Raiders Should Draft Johnny Manziel

I’m just going to come out and say it.

If Johnny Manziel is available at the fifth overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Raiders would be foolish not to take him.

Sure, Sammy Watkins would make more sense if he’s there. The Raiders just traded a 6th rounder for Matt Schaub for Christ’s sake!

I don’t care. Damn me if I’m wrong, but I’m 1000% a believer in Johnny Football. Give me Johnny Manziel any day of the freaking week.

Manziel is a maestro, someone you do not appreciate at first glance, but when you really study his overall body of work, you can truly appreciate his greatness. He can make plays that no other college quarterback, much less any current NFL quarterback can make.

Look across the Bay, would the San Francisco 49ers be crazy if they took Manziel, as some have said could happen? If anything, it would be nothing but a stroke of genius. Why worry about Kaepernick if they could land him?

Now, let’s go back to the East Bay. Manziel has the swagger, the charisma, and the ability to be the Raiders leader going forward. Sure, give Matt Schaub a year to finish his career. But when the Raiders are fully stocked of talent again with a retiring Peyton Manning, they would be a forced to be reckoned with in the AFC.

Reggie McKenzie, you might not have the chance. But here’s hoping, if he’s available, you draft Johnny Manziel. Lord knows how much you would regret it if you pass him up.
